How the REME HALO & HALO-LED Work

Both systems mount inside your HVAC ductwork and activate automatically when your air conditioner or heater runs. The core technology is ionized hydrogen peroxide: the unit generates charged molecules that travel through your home’s air, attaching to bacteria, mold spores, viruses, pet dander, pollen, and odor-causing particles. Those contaminants are either reduced on contact or clump together so your existing HVAC filter captures them more effectively.

The HALO-LED is the newer of the two models. It uses LED-based UV-C germicidal light instead of traditional mercury UV lamps, making it more energy-efficient and longer-lasting. It’s also certified to release zero ozone. A self-cleaning catalyst helps the unit operate consistently, and a built-in indicator tells you when the cell needs replacement, typically on a four-to-five-year cycle.

Lab-Tested Results

Independent lab testing shows a 99% reduction of bacteria and viruses on surfaces and in the air, including MRSA, E. coli, and Norwalk. Testing also shows up to a 99% reduction in allergens such as mold spores, pet dander, and pollen, alongside measurable odor reduction.

Those numbers matter more in Orlando than in most other climates. The region averages around 74% relative humidity year-round, with summer months routinely pushing above 90%. High indoor humidity creates favorable conditions for mold and mildew growth, and Central Florida’s live oak pollen season peaks in March and April, extending an already long allergen calendar. The EPA has also noted that indoor air can be more polluted than outdoor air, particularly in tightly sealed homes where air conditioning efficiency reduces natural ventilation.
