The professionals at ServiceOne, one of Orlando’s leading AC and plumbing companies, wants homeowners to know that a HVAC zoning systems is a good way to save money and improve your air conditioning’s efficiency.

System zoning involves multiple thermostats that are connected to a control panel, which operate dampers within the air ducts of the home’s heating and air conditioning system. The thermostats adjust the temperature of their specific zone, then open or close the dampers within the ductwork according to the thermostat’s settings. The system is easy to use, cooling or heating specific bedrooms based on the desired temperature.

“You want to feel comfortable in every area of your house; air zoning systems make this possible,” says ServiceOne founder and president, Bill Gouty. “With zoning, you have more control of temperature and therefore more control of your comfort level.”

The benefit of an air zoning system includes saving money by conserving energy and is helpful in homes with inconsistent room temperatures. “For example, if you have a guest room that is usually empty, just shut the door and raise the temperature so you aren’t cooling that area unnecessarily,” explains Gouty. “The U.S. Department of Energy says that zoning systems can reduce energy bills by 30 percent.”
Another important factor that affects the AC’s efficiency and overall energy costs is the age of the system. Energy costs can be managed, and even reduced, by updating and maintaining an efficient AC system.

“In the summer in Florida, air conditioning systems use more power than anything else in the home, so it’s important to consider every improvement to make sure it is operating at top efficiency,” said Gouty. “Our air zoning specialists at ServiceOne AC have the skills and expertise to handle all of your zoning system needs.”
