Water Heater Repair
|

It is always a good idea to get your home ready for winter: seal any cracks in your windows to prevent drafts, make sure your furnace is in good working order and change the filters in your home before you start circulating all that air. Remember to include your water heater in the process. Whether you need a new water heater installation or should update your existing one, our specialists at ServiceOne AC can help.

Tips for Freezing Temperatures

Many Longwood plumbers stay busy during cold weather, as they know freezing temperatures can wreak havoc on your piping. If you have plans to go away for an extended period of time while the mercury dips well below freezing, you should take care to winterize your pipes:

  • Turn off the heat source to the furnace and water heater and turn off the power of your tank
  • If your water heater installation used the gas line, turn off the gas valve
  • Close the main water supply to your home
  • Open all inside and outside faucets, allowing them to completely drain
  • Drain the water heater completely
  • Wrap any exposed piping with insulation

Once you start the winterizing process, you should take the time to fully inspect your water heater. The typical life of a tank is 10-13 years. If yours is old and showing its age, you may want to call our team at ServiceOne AC for a new water heater installation or repair. We can help make sure this winter is a safe, warm one by keeping your system in good working order. Contact us at (407) 499-8333
